With the acceleration of the development of Artificial Intelligence, we hear voices everywhere asking to take a "step back" on the development of this technology, under the pretext of the danger that AI would represent for humanity. 😊 It is true that in their eyes we are not very awake, but even half asleep, I find it hard to believe that these champions of capitalism really care about humanity. But if we replace the word 'humanity' with 'capitalism as an economic system', everything becomes clear. AI is the child that devours its parents. The capitalist system needs at least one seller of goods and/or services and one buyer to function. Every capitalist transaction is based on the surplus value of the exchange. The buyer has to pay more for the product and/or service than its production cost. Thanks to AI, the seller of services will be able to reduce his production costs by 1/100th, 1/1000th, or whatever, and thus potentially increase his margins by the same amount. But the problem is, who will be the buyer? The potential buyer has no source of income because his paid work is now performed by the AI.

Capitalism, like the ouroboros, the snake that bites its own tail, devours itself.
